You cannot make this up! Two Texas truck drivers, Mustafa Salik (40) and Erfan Kamal (36), just turned the 2026 World Cup into their personal shopping spree.

While hauling Team England’s gear from Florida to their base camp in Kansas City, these guys allegedly raided the trailer, pocketing about $18,000 worth of merchandise. We’re talking jerseys, cleats, soccer balls, and even stuffed lion toys!

When logistics staff noticed things missing and threatened to call the cops, the duo handed the loot over. Now, they’re facing major felony charges and up to seven years in prison. Talk about an epic penalty!

Two Texas truck drivers are in jail after being found with more than $18,000 worth of autographed jerseys, cleats, soccer balls and more #England national team equipment.
Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal are each charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property. The two men were hired to drive England equipment in a trailer from Florida to Missouri. When the pair got to Kansas City, the England logistics team found items were missing. They confronted the drivers and discovered autographed team jerseys, soccer cleats, a World Cup soccer ball, goalkeeper gloves, team apparel, a JBL speaker and other items in the cab of the truck. Both men claimed they were told they could take whatever they wanted after seeing a laborer do so in Florida. A Jackson County judge set bond for both defendants at $75,000 cash surety, with a 10% provision.
Kansas City Police and the Jackson County Prosecutor worked quickly to investigate and make an arrest after the theft sparked international attention Friday night into Sunday morning. Full story in the comments

Jackson County prosecutor Melesa Johnson has charged two men in connection with the incident, with Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal each facing a count of receiving stolen property carrying up to seven years in prison.
The pair drove England team equipment from their warm weather facility in West Palm Beach to Kansas City and a detective recovered an estimated 18,145.41 dollars (£13,530) worth of items.
